More than $6 million over three years will be spent on initiatives supporting the Gunns Pulp Mill project proposed for Longreach, near Bell Bay in northern Tasmania.

The funding announced in the state Budget includes $2 million for a pulp mill supplier development program to ensure businesses maximise the project’s benefits.

A similar amount has been allocated to the assessment process and more than $2 million will go towards supporting the Government’s pulp mill task force.”
