Maya discussed on the drive home being called a nerd by a number of people today in reaction to the three “certificates everyone gets” for Maths, Science and English plus the Australian Mathematics Competition high distinction she picked up at today’s assembly. She’s not new to the top 1% scene but I think she wasn’t exactly sure what “best in state” meant so didn’t mention it and left it at the bottom of the certificate pile she handed me tonight.
