Early Stable Diffusion Deforum animations from September 2022 — when AI video generation was weeks old.
These are Deforum animations generated with Stable Diffusion in September 2022 — roughly two months after Stable Diffusion’s public release and weeks after Deforum added animation support. AI video generation was genuinely new territory.
The technique was primitive by current standards: interpolate between text prompts across keyframes, feed each frame back as img2img input for the next, hope the coherence holds. It rarely did for long. But when it worked, the results had a quality that later, more controlled tools lost — a kind of liquid uncertainty where the model was visibly searching for structure.
