Thomas Street Open Garden Day is All Go!

THOMAS STREET OPEN GARDEN DAY AND FUNDRAISER

Come and Celebrate Suburban Food Gardening!

After two years developing an extensive edible garden our landlords have given us 14 days to either remove the garden or pay them $2,100. As part of trying to turn this into a positive thing, we want to celebrate our time here and all the people who have been involved while raising public awareness about growing your own food where you live. So this Sunday May 7 at midday we are opening our garden up to the world – you are invited to a huge afternoon including:

• Garden tours
• Sustainable living workshops
• Food stalls (including special treats from South America)
• An auction of wonderful wares and odd items
• Live music and poetry
• Various Displays including the Lowdown on Lawn
• Documentary screenings
• Talk on “The Living Soil: Making the Invisible Visible” by Plant Nerd Megan Floris
• Plants, seeds, and garden goodies for sale (donations of goods welcome)
• PermaSalsa – where permaculture gardening meets salsa dancing!

Where: 16 Thomas Street, Clayton, South Eastern Melbourne
When: Sunday May 7, 12 noon – 5pm
Entry: with (optional) donation.
